About

Mission
To Celebrate Diversity
Our mission is to provide a creative a platform for artists and entrepreneurs of diverse backgrounds; the community is powered by our shared values around diversity and human rights. Originating in 2011, the Melange movement has been years in the making with successfully producing events in San Francisco, Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Boston, and more.
Historically, aristocracy and haute couture fashion houses have determined what is defined as beautiful -- both in terms of fashion design and the model aesthetic. This homogenous image of beauty has been imperialized worldwide, contributing to increasing racial injustice, diminishing self-love, and other negative externalities. In order to drive global change and promote self-love, the world desperately needs more artists of diverse backgrounds to showcase their vision for society.
